No-bake oat energy bars [ raw / 289cal. ]

Easy, quick and really good for your body………….is that to much to ask? Not with these yummie no-bake oat energy bars, no dehydrator required! They are loaded with healthy fats, nutrients and anti-oxidants.

It is always to be prepared, and that counts double when you are on the go, need a snack or a energy boost after a workout or during studying. You just don’t want to get hungry and surely don’t want to be buying something filled with sugar, cholesterol, fats and conservatives.

Ready for work, juices, smoothie and bars!

Ingredients for 10 energy bars,

  • 2 cups ( gluten free ) oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup desiccated  coconut
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup sesame seed butter for extra calcium
  • 1/2 cup brown rice syrup, sticky or maple- , date syrup, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla powder or essence
  • 2 Tbsp. flax seeds
  • 2 Tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbsp. lucuma powder

Mix all the ingredients by hand, it should make a sticky dough. Should it be to dry, you can always add a little coconut oil or a sweetener of your choice. Line a baking tin with plastic foil and scoop in the oatmeal mixture. Cover it with an other layer of foil and press it down really thoroughly, you can even put something heavy on it like a boo. To get it nice and firm I even stand on the book and dance around a little!

No-bake oat energy bars [ raw ]

It should be nice and firm after an hour or so in the fridge, firm enough to flip it out of the tin. Cut it with a sharp knife in 10 pieces and wrap them individually in foil. You can keep them like this in the fridge for a day of 4 or 5 but they also freeze really well for a nice stack! Crumbles are great in a bowl of almond milk šŸ™‚

You can also add some extra superfoods like hemp seeds, raw cacao powder, maca powder ( for adults ) and some goji berries for a nice color and extra anti-oxidants. Enjoy!
