Chia seeds are wonderful little seeds loaded with omega 3, anti-oxidants, minerals, protein and fiber. They can multiple there volume up to 12 times, they fill you up and keep you hydrated.
They have no particular taste so can be easily added to anything. When soaked they become gel-like, a great addition to smoothies and puddings. I like to blend a tbsp chia seeds in with my smoothies to add healthy fats and omega 3.
8 X more omega 3 than salmon
6 X more calcium than milk
30 X more anti-oxidants than blueberries
Ingredients for the Berry Chia Pudding are,
- 1/2 cup almond milk or any other plant based milk of your choice
- 1 cup blueberries, cherries work great too
- 1 Tbsp. chia seeds
- 1 Tbsp. sweetener to taste, like coconut sugar or maple syrup
- vanilla powder to taste
Blend milk and berries, stir in chia and stir now and then during the first 5 minutes. Place it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes until thick and creamy. You can keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
